About the Artist
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Amy Ruvalcaba is a multidisciplinary artist. She graduated from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts as a theater major and went on to study printmaking in college. She has taught various art-making classes through Plaza de la Raza and the City of Los Angeles. She is drawn to paper as a medium and has a deep appreciation for artesanias such as papel picado & piñata making. Amy is currently experimenting with printmaking on natural hand-dyed fabrics and is working on writing her first play.
