Plaza de la Raza Welcomes Two New Board Members: Denise Campos & Tommy Faavae
We're excited to announce the addition of two new members to the Plaza de la Raza Board of Directors: Denise Campos and Tommy Faavae.
Denise Campos brings over 20 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, and community engagement. As Senior Media Relations and Strategic Engagement Manager at SoCalGas, she has a long history of supporting public service and outreach efforts. Denise has worked with several Los Angeles City officials and served on nonprofit boards as well as city and state commissions. A proud daughter of immigrants from Mexico, she was also the first in her family to graduate from college (San Diego State University).
Tommy Faavae, Business Development Manager at IBEW Local 11, has 28 years of experience in the electrical industry, with 24 years dedicated to IBEW. A passionate advocate for workforce development, Tommy also serves on the Pacific Gateway Workforce Development Board and has a history of community service, including his 7-year involvement with the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance.
Chairman of the Board, Armando Ramirez states, “We are thrilled to have Denise and Tommy join our board and look forward to their continued leadership in strengthening our center and school.” Executive Director, Maria Jimenez-Torres adds, “We welcome both Tommy and Denise to our Plaza Family.”
