"Recuerdos Del Alma” Exhibition Opens Friday, September 13th
Plaza de la Raza is pleased to announce an upcoming photography and poetry exhibition, "Recuerdos Del Alma.” Curated by Aranza Trujillo, this exhibition focuses on Love, Healing and Latinx Heritage, showcasing the work of 29 emerging artists, local college photographers, and poets, whose work will be on display at Plaza de la Raza’s Margo Albert Theatre Gallery throughout Latinx Heritage Month. The exhibit opens on Friday, September 13 with a special reception 7-9pm and will remain on view free to the public until October 14, 2024.
Through various media, such as photography, poetry, mixed media, videography, and 3D art pieces, the artists explore the impact of love, and healing, and embrace the wonderful aspects of Los Angeles’ Latinx culture. Featuring Artwork by: Arlene Arreola, Maebellene B., Kerwin Cervantez, Josefina Chavez, Dani De La Cruz, Hector Garcia, Liz Gonzalez, Alexxis Victoria Gonzalez, Hazmin Hermosillo, Jesse Hernandez, Idaly Hill, Iris Huerta, Kriztel "Lupita" Hurtado, Alma Lucia, Roman Luna, Alejandra Martinez, Vivica Martinez, Luis Menchaca, Michelle Montenegro, Marilyn Montúfar, Camila Amaya Navarrete, Ashley Tarin, Samuel Temblador, Serena Teresa, Frances L.Torres, Aranza Trujillo, Moyses Vega, Tomiko Younge and Bryan Zarate.
“Recuerdos Del Alma” is a part of "Art Shift: From Creation to Curation," Plaza de la Raza’s series of exhibitions supported in part by the Eastside Arts Initiative.
