We are looking for an Undergraduate Student to support Plaza de la Raza’s social media outreach and documentation efforts for Summer 2025!

Job Title: Getty Marrow Social Media Intern

Reports to: Executive Director

Status: The internship is temporary, hourly, non-exempt 

Terms: $17.87 per hour, 40 hours per week, 10 weeks between June 2 to August 22, 2025.

Plaza de la Raza is a private non-profit community arts venue providing year-round programs in arts education. Our mission is to foster enrichment of all cultures bridging the geographic, social, artistic, and cultural boundaries of Los Angeles and beyond.

OVERVIEW:

The Getty Marrow Summer Undergraduate Internship at Plaza de la Raza is a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes with seasoned cultural workers, committed to community-based arts programming at the longest running Latino multidisciplinary arts center in the country.

The intern will work closely with Plaza’s administrative team at the center located in Lincoln Park at 3540 N. Mission Road, Los Angeles. The intern will create content for all of Plaza de la Raza’s social media platforms and support all digital outreach and documentation for the center’s ongoing arts education and public programming.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in social media content design and development. This role offers hands-on experience in social media marketing, audience development, storytelling and content production for artists and community-based arts education. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

While this internship is intended for students from backgrounds underrepresented in museums and arts professions, eligible candidates from all backgrounds may be considered.

Getty Marrow Undergraduate Intern must:

Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (bachelor’s degree program, associate’s degree program, or vocational or technical program below the baccalaureate level). Students must have completed at least one semester or two quarters of college by June. Students who graduated the semester or quarter immediately before the internship begins are also eligible. (Students who are enrolled in a second BA or BS program are not eligible.)

Attend college in or be a permanent resident of LA County; and

Be a United States citizen or permanent resident (non-citizen authorized to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis; also known as a “green card” holder). Students with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) status are also encouraged and eligible to apply.
