About the Artist
America Madrigal-Herrera is from Michoacan, Mexico and currently lives in the Northeast side of Los Angeles with her husband and two boys who are also students at Plaza. America is a former Plaza de la Raza School of Performing and Visual Arts student and the founder and creative individual behind IG "Mi Magnolia Veintiseis". She teachs folk art classes at Plaza de la Raza to children ages 7-12 and helps during Plaza’s community family workshops. America enjoys creating papel picado because it’s a gentle heartwarming connection to her Mexican roots, no matter how far away she is.
