Mexica New Year Celebration at Plaza de la Raza

Join us for Plaza de la Raza's 3rd Annual Mexica New Year Celebration! Enjoy workshops, art & food vendors, demonstrations and three special performances of LA Ofrenda. This entire weekend of family activities will provide a meaningful opportunity to celebrate those who keep these traditions alive! 


Saturday, March 8, 1-8pm --LA Ofrenda performances at 2 & 7pm

Sunday, March 9, 1-6pm --LA Ofrenda performance at 2pm


Mexica New Year 2025 will also include Team Ixi'im Ka'ak denonstrating P'ok Ta P'ok Mayan Ball Game on Saturday, March 8, at 5pm and Sunday, March 9, at 4pm.

LA Ofrenda is an original Aztec dance mixed-media production, written and directed by Jeniffer Sanchez and performed by Danza Divina de Los Angeles. Mexica New Year activities are FREE and open to the public. LA Ofrenda performances will take place at our Margo Albert Theater. LA Ofrenda tickets can be secured in advance on Eventbrite, tickets are $12 adults, $7 kids, with sliding scale donation tickets available as well.

Free Event Parking will be available directly across the street from the center at the Lincoln Park DMV. Additional parking available on Selig Place and surrounding street parking.
